Fall 2016 Season Coach’s Highlights

The Fall 2016 season was a very rewarding one for our football program as far as achieving goals and exceeding expectations. Our record for the season was 9-2 which was not perfect, but it was successful in terms of getting the most out of our players and helping them achieve their full potential. The true measure for our team and season was not our league championship (BCL South), but the overall development and progress of our players from one year to the next. Last season (Fall 2015) was a challenging one, but we came together and  learned how to compete as a team. Through the hard work and dedication of our coaches and players, we had great team success this year, but we also had three of the most productive players in the history of our program – Ryan Kalayjian, Kobe Smith and Emmanuel Exilhomme who scored the most touchdowns in one season (23) in O’Bryant/Boston Tech history.

Post-Season: Boston City League South Champions; MIAA State Tournament #2 Seed – Division 4A North Finalist

Boston City League All-Stars: Emmanuel Exilhomme, Ryan Kalayjian, Kobe Smith

Massachusetts Shriners Game All-Stars: Emmanuel Exilhomme, Kobe Smith

BSA Most Valuable Scholar-Athlete: Ryan Kalayjian

The JV team played hard all season and our young players improved with each game. During the season, our players learned a lot about football, competition, teamwork, teammates, ourselves and life. Our players represented O’Bryant in a positive manner and we look forward to building on the lessons we learned last year and expect a great season this fall.
